CLINTON TOWNSHIP -- This year’s Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise is scheduled for Sunday, August 2, 2009. The cruise will begin at noon and run until 6 p.m. along the Gratiot Avenue five-mile loop from 14 Mile to Wellington Crescent, just north of Metropolitan Parkway.
"With the great day we had last year and the incredible turn out we are looking forward to another great year of cruising in 09," said Marco Lavinio, Chair of the Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise Committee. “I’m already seeing cruisers on Gratiot in early May so I know the participation will be strong this year.”
This year’s event will once again begin with a parade at noon. There will be pedal cars, family fun events, live entertainment, a car show and much more. Car enthusiasts will also have a weekend of cruising with the Mt. Clemens Car Cruise on Saturday, August 1, 2009.
The Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise Committee is continually updating the web site with more information on this year’s cruise. ‘We’re looking for people to help on our committee and for local businesses to get involved in the cruise,” said Lavinio. “ Anyone interested should check out the web site and contact us right away.”
The Clinton Township Gratiot Cruise has been a favorite event in Clinton Township since 2003 with more than 75,000 people attending in 2008. For more information, visit online - www.ctgratiotcruise.com or contact Marco Lavinio at 586-792-2310.
